Can't download Catalina

How do I upgrade from Mojave to Catalina? I'm not ready to take the plunge to any later OSs

The model year of an iMac is available at Apple menu > About This Mac.

If your iMac is a late 2012 or later model, see instructions in How to get old versions of macOS - Apple Support

Earlier iMac models cannot be upgraded to Catalina.

Thanks! I tried that (or something similar earlier) and the App Store wouldn't allow me to download Catalina. I do have a new enough model -- I've been running Mojave.

Anyway, this reply did the trick.
