Isolating vocals in Logic

I filmed a concert in a church setting, main vocalist with strings and piano. The singer is requesting pitch correction. However all I have to work with is a mono track from the sound desk of the overall sound which was connected to my camera via XLR. Is there anyway to isolate the vocals in order to use flex pitch?

I have Logic Pro 10.7.4

Hi Dwyerfen, if I understand your question correctly, chances of successfully isolating vocals in this case are very slim (if not non-existent). There's no "magic bullet" tool in Logic capable of doing what you describe above. You could probably try some extreme EQ-ing, but if it's just one mono "overall" audio file we're talking about, how are you planning to re-intergate pitch-corrected vocals back into it? That's the question, basically.

Your best bet would be to redo the recording and make sure to record all parts separately as a multitrack to be able to use pitch correction on parts that might need it. Cheers!

Thanks but no possibility to redo the filming/recording.

The only way in theory I could imagine this (I’m probably wrong!) is to export a stereo audio file from Final Cut. Load this into Logic Pro and split into two separate files.

Using invert phase isolate vocal in one and remove vocal in the other.

Got a feeling though singer may have to put up with slight pitch variations!
