My trackpad is not physically clicking

I have a MacBook Pro 13" and for the past two days, my trackpad has not been physically clicking. I have tried restarting it numerous times and turned Force Click and haptic feedback on and off in system preferences. Does anyone have any idea how to fix this?

Try resetting the SMC - Reset the SMC of your Mac – Apple Support

I would try Safe Mode, then- hold the Shift key on startup. If the problem persists, it's probably a hardware issue.
