iPhone 8+ touch screen issues

My touch screen does not work after being idle. Have to restart to get it to work. Phone will not answer for same reason - keyboard “S” does not work -

iPhone 8 Plus, iOS 15

Pappy ~ Does your iPhone 8 Plus still have its original battery?

And what's the Maximum Capacity % here?...

Settings > Battery > Battery Health

Yes- original battery; currently at 87%
