message Monterey install application is damaged, can't be used. How do I resolve this? I need the security updates.

Trying to install new Monterey os - website says it's compatible with my air early 2015 model. But I keep getting this message: "This copy of the Install macOS Monterey application is damaged, and can‘t be used to install macOS."

It currently uses Mohave.

I want to ensure I have the security updates. How do I fix it or get a version that works? thanks!

The copy you have downloaded is old and was signed by a certificate that is no longer valid. Delete the installer, empty the trash, reboot your Mac, then re-download the installer from the App Store.
