Apple ID password for a child

Hello.

I created apple account for my 10 y/o child and she is added to a family sharing. I approve everything she tries to install on her devices. Lately she can’t install anything because the systems asks for her apple ID password. I don’t remember how I did it when I was setting up her account. I tried her email password which is associated with her apple ID, I tried my apple password but nothing works. If I reset her apple password does it mean my apple password will be reset as well or it affects only hers?

Thanks for help.

Since she has a separate Apple ID, a password reset will only change her password.

If you forgot the Apple ID (iCloud) password, enter the Apple (iCloud) ID, and click Forgot Password. See if you can get a Rescue or Notification email option if necessary. Link to contact Apple Support at the end of the 2nd article.

If you have 2 Factor Authentication enabled, if you can't recover the password using the steps above, you will need to use Account Recovery. The Recovery Process is an automated process and the length of time it takes can vary a lot. Apple ID Support can only answer your questions. They can't intervene in or speed up the process. The article below has some suggestions to shorten the time the process takes.
