Apple watch series 7 always on not working after a software update.

I updated my brand new series 7 that's only a couple days old to the latest update and after the always on feature isn't working. I have to tap the screen or the press the crown to show the time, even though the always on option is turned on in settings. What steps should I perform to solve this?

Apple watch ultra 2 always on not working I recently got the ultra 2 and since i’ve had it the always on display hasn’t worked at all, i’ve tried the setting for it, i’ve made sure it’s not in low power or theater mode.
