How to tell if my Apple 20W USB-C adapter is genuine or fake?

Plus … many counterfeits are cosmetically quite convincing. And these guys are likely going to accurately duplicate the markings.

A reputable, authorized reseller AND intact seals are your best indicator.

If you have a MacBook … a genuine power supply will communicate it’s internal parameters back to the mac where they can be read-out in the system menu. (unknown if counterfeiters are duplicating this “chip-level” functionality too)

Simple, from whom did you buy it? Apple or an authorized Apple reseller? If you bought it anywhere else, including Amazon, there is a distinct possibility it is counterfeit.
