How to remove a device from my Apple ID?

You can change the devices name

1. Go to Settings  > General > About > Name.
2. Tap , enter a new name, then tap Done.

But a (3) behind it usually means that you have 2 other devices with the same name

Perform a power-off and restart of your phone.

This should force your change to "show up" on your Apple ID.

That’s the device’s name which can be changed in Settings -> General -> About -> Name.
