Allowing a specific app in parental controls

I have parental controls activated on my child’s iPhone. I authorized them to download an app, the app did download but now it won’t open. I was able to open it on my phone so it must have to do with the parental controls. Is there a way to authorize a specific app? I found the Allowed Apps section in Content and Privacy restrictions, but none of the downloaded apps are listed there.

Hello Angorama47,

Thank you for reaching out to Apple Support Communities, and we'll be happy to help in any way we can. We understand you're having issues with allowing apps in Screen TIme. To start, cehck ou tthe steps listed here to see if they resolve the issue: Use parental controls on your child's iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch - Apple Support

"Allow built-in apps and features

You can restrict the use of built-in apps or features. If you turn off an app or feature, the app or feature won't be deleted, it's just temporarily hidden from your Home Screen. For example, if you turn off Mail, the Mail app won't appear on your Home Screen until you turn it back on.

To change your Allowed Apps:

  1. Go to Settings and tap Screen Time.
  2. Tap Content & Privacy Restrictions.
  3. Enter your Screen Time passcode.
  4. Tap Allowed Apps.
  5. Select the apps that you want to allow."

We hope this helps.

Cheers!
