The Audio Convertor app should be free for basic conversion tasks. There are some additional features that can be paid for but you don't need those. I was able install it and convert a few files last night. Other similar software is available.

Greetings henryk224,

You can learn how to convert supported files types here:

Convert a song to a different file format with the Apple Music app or iTunes for Windows - Apple Support

"On your Mac

  1. Open the Apple Music app.
  2. In the menu bar, choose Music > Preferences.
  3. Click the Files tab, then click Import Settings.
  4. Click the menu next to Import Using, then choose the encoding format that you want to convert the song to.
  5. Click OK.
  6. Select the songs in your library that you want to convert.
  7. Choose File > Convert, then Create [format] Version.

New song files appear in your library next to the original files."

Take care.
