Garmin Speed Sensor2 connectivity with Apple Watch SE

I use Apple Watch SE to record my activities but unfortunately, it can record the distance while I do static spinning/Indoor cycling (for obvious reasons). I have recently bought Speed Sensor 2 and attached to my static spinning machine flywheel to record the distance. I am unable to sync/connect speed sensor to my apple watch so I have connected to Garmin Fore Runner 45 to record indoor cycling which records distance travelled.

Question is: Any idea if I can connect the speed sensor to my Apple Watch so that I don't have to wear Garmin watch while exercising? Speed Sensor/FR45 syncs with Garmin Connect and then that syncs with Apple Health to reflect in activity feed.

Any help is much appreciated.

Hi hi2pavan,

While connecting external devices isn't possible, test the steps below found in the article here to manually input your health data: Manage Health data on your iPhone, iPod touch, or Apple Watch - Apple Support

"Enter information about your health

  1. Open the Health app and tap the Browse tab.
  2. Tap a category, like Activity.
  3. Tap a subcategory, like Steps.
  4. Tap Add Data in the upper-right corner.
  5. Enter the date, time, and data for that activity.
  6. When you're finished, tap Add."

In the article above you can also view steps to see if there's an app compatible with your device. You can also find helpful information for workout types here: Workout types on Apple Watch - Apple Support

Feel free to also leave feature feedback here: Product Feedback - Apple

Best.

Thanks Origamifan1.

Whole idea of tracking the distance while indoor cycling is to understand how far I have peddled. If I can add it manually, which I could. I tried steps mentioned by you, then it’s “manual entry”. I will have to assume the distance!

I hope Apple will in future bring their own speed and cadence sensors so that we can directly sync them with Apple Watch and forget all this fuss.

of course they will not cost anything less than $100 each ;)
