Are you referring to using a computer to update your iPad? If so, neither Music nor iTunes is used to update iPad on Mac now. Instead, it's done through the Finder - Update your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch with the Finder - Apple Support

Can you better describe your question? The only reference to the Music app in this link is about removing music in the Music app to free up space. It's not about the Music App vs iTunes in any way.
