Import iTunes library in Music in Monterey

Under Big Sur, I successfully used the method described by @turingtest2 to import about 20k songs and dozens of playlists from my "iTunes Library.itl" on an external hard drive to Music on the same external hard drive . It was a snap. Launch Music whilst holding down the Option key; select "iTunes Library.itl"; save to same director.

That file became corrupted. I tried again under Monterey using two different replications (rsync) of the original iTunes directory on two different computers (M1 and Intel) to both the home Music directory and to the external hard drive. I tried at least 12 times and at least once on each computer overnight. Most of the time, the preferences were set to not sync with the cloud. Neither the playlists nor the songs would import. I did notice a different behavior. Instead of just creating a "Music Library.musiclibrary" file in the target directory, Music created a new "Music" folder with the "Music Library" therein.

Help!?

I just noticed a similar question here. Probably best to respond on the other thread.
