Fileproviderd and OneDrive Consuming more than 100% CPU

Hi Community,

I'm working with a user that is on Monterey 12.5, the system is a MacBook Pro (16-inch, 2019) that has a 1TB SSD with ~400GB free and 32GB RAM, has up-to-date OneDrive: version 22.065.0412.0004, and the user reports that their system fan runs all the time & the system is hot to the touch due to CPU over-use by fileproviderd and OneDrive. The user has reset their PRAM. We've uninstalled and reinstalled OneDrive as well & OneDrive idle, meaning not syncing anything new, is consuming 100-110% of the user's CPU.

I've seen in a few guides that the recommended advice is to create a new user and see if the error persists, but I'm not understanding what this would really show us since we'd need to resolve the issue on the user's account regardless.

What else can we try to stop OneDrive/fileproviderd from over-consuming the user's CPU? Thanks.
