Disappearing Playlist

I presently have 8 playlist, however when I try to add a song to one them, it is NOT there. I am not an Apple Music Subscriber…all my music was purchased from itunes.

To confirm, this occurs with all playlists? This may help us isolate the issue. Let's make sure your device is up-to-date. If it is updated, let's restart your device. Restarting your device and making sure it is updated can resolve many unexpected issues.
