Camera flashlight missing

I have a 9th generation iPad (2 weeks old). I only have the camera flash option when the camera is on selfie mode. When I try to use in front facing mode, there is no flash option. There is no flashlight option in Settings/control centre.

iPad, iOS 10

Only those models of iPad that are fitted with a TrueTone flash (iPad mini6 and iPads Pro) have a flashlight control in the Control Centre.

As documented in the iPad User Guide, the iPad9 does not have a flash:

iPad (9th generation) - Apple Support

By comparison, the iPad mini6 and iPad Pro:

iPad mini (6th generation) - Apple Support

iPad Pro 11-inch (3rd generation) - Apple Support

iPad Pro 12.9-inch (5th generation) - Apple Support
