Internal Storage is not showing in recovery mode. Help!

Am afraid not.

Apple has made the walls of " Walled Garden of Eden " aka Apple Eco-System even higher.

Even Attempting to install Monterey to an External Drive is problematic at best let alone making that drive bootable.

If you installed a third party SSD this is known to cause issue upgrading to Monterey—

Failed to Install Monterey

This is a known issue— non OEM Apple NVMe / PCIe SSD

The work around is to reinstall the OEM Apple Drive upgrade that drive which will flash the board, then reinstall your third party drive and now run the installer on your machine.

The EFI /Firmware part of the Monterey pkg is verifying for OEM Apple Drives and fails to upgrade. The EFI boot ROM is required to Flash the board and is required to successfully install Monterey.
