i put in the correct password but my phone is now unavailable

I recently had a bit of a mess-up with my iPhone password and I thought I couldn't remember it. But no matter how I think about it, I know the correct password. However, when I tried it, it was incorrect. Now I've gotten to the point where my phone is unavailable and appears to be requiring a factory reset. Is this a problem for others and is there any way to get around the factory reset?

iPhone 11, iOS 15

When your iPhone is unavailable, there is no way around erasing your phone.

When you're running iOS 15.2. or above you can do this wireless, see this link and follow the instructions

If you're running an older iOS version, you will need to do this via a pc or Mac.
