garmin device will not mount in finder

I am trying to connect a mac to a garmin 700i gps. When the device is plugged in there is no indication in the Finder that the device connected. The device is also not recognized ingrain basecamp program. Garmin support has been no help.

Any ideas?

M1 chip in macbook preventing garmin gps for getting map updates I read where everyone with an Macbook computer with a M1 chip could not update their Garmin GPS products. Think that is my problem but using the Apple connector USB C to computer and regular female USB connector does allow the Garmin GPS to receive a charge. Guess the M1 doesn't prevent that - odd. So many people and I mean SO MANY people are having issues connecting their Garmin devices (whether it be a GPS or something else) to their new M1 Macs to get it to actually go into Mass Storage Mode (aka for the computer to recognize it as a hard drive of sorts), and they will plug it into their computers and it'll just charge it and that's it. I have a Nüvi 50LM. I am also in said category of folks. If you: Have the latest version of Garmin Express Are running Monterey on your M1 machine Have tried using the official Garmin USB to Mini-USB cable with Apple's official USB to USB-C adapter (as Garmin actually recommends you use on their website?!?) Have tried a multitude of direct USB-C to Mini-USB cables that all do data for other devices of yours that have Mini-USB but for some reason not for your Garmin, Are unable to check off the "read data on removable volumes!" checkbox because your M1 Mac won't recognize the Garmin in any capacity as its plugged in in the first place... and nothing is working? Then this thread is for you. I wanted to make this so we'd have a current space to discuss our issues and see if we come up with any potential solutions, or if Garmin does eventually, or what happens. The interesting thing is that Garmin themselves contradict themselves on their website. They say in one sentence "Don't connect your Garmin with a USB adapter or hub, it won't connect to sync that way!" then in the same breath like three sentences lower on the page say "if you have an M1 MacBook, try using a USB to USB-C adapter!". It makes no sense. I've talked to Garmin support about this and they basically said (paraphrasing here) that I'm SOL atm. I like to think that's not the case. There has to be a solution out there somewhere, either a software update or something! Let the discussing commence. What have you tried? Has anyone of you found a solution yet?

Unable to connect Fenix/Garmin Device to MBP Ventura OS Previously able to connect Fenix watch to MacBook Pro under Monterey MacOS. Same MBP. Upgraded to Ventura 13.0.1. Now, Garmin Express not able to find device. Garmin Express App has full disk access. No success with Garmin or 3rd party cable (which both worked before). Garmin Express latest update (7.15.0) Any suggestions? Thank you.

Do you have it selected in the Finder>Preferences>Sidebar...(?)

Change Finder preferences on Mac - Apple Support

Also verify in the Finder itself —Locations— if you need to spin the carrot to reveal items list—by moving your mouse to the right side reveal the hidden option:

Yes this type of device is listed. I have another Garmin that do appear when connected.
