garmin device will not mount in finder

I am trying to connect a mac to a garmin 700i gps. When the device is plugged in there is no indication in the Finder that the device connected. The device is also not recognized ingrain basecamp program. Garmin support has been no help.


Any ideas?

iMac 27″, macOS 12.5

Do you have it selected in the Finder>Preferences>Sidebar...(?)



Change Finder preferences on Mac - Apple Support


Also verify in the Finder itself —Locations— if you need to spin the carrot to reveal items list—by moving your mouse to the right side reveal the hidden option:
