trackpad not working with Gimp
I have this same problem using Mac OS Monterey 12.3.1. on a MacBook Pro, August 2, 2022, and so far no one seems to have an answer that I can find -

I'm using Catalina 10.15.4 on a MacBook Pro.
I'm using Gimp 2.10.4
When I use my trackpad (don't have an external mouse) I can click on the top File Menu and choose a selection tool. It then highlights that tool on the toolbox but I cannot directly click on an item in any of the toolboxes. I can see my mouse moving around the screen. And I don't appear to have any trackpad issues with any other software. In preview I can cut a selection, move it etc using the trackpad.
However if I choose the rectangle selection tool from the menu in gimp it will allow me to create a square with a drag/swipe motion on the trackpad. Its not very accurate though. But I cannot then grab the handles of my square or select it to cut/move etc. I'm not sure whether the trackpad settings are not working or I need to set a setting in Gimp itself. I have spent a couple hours googling but there is no "set up your trackpad for gimp". Is there a MacBook Gimp user out there who could help me please?
Thankyou
