Caller receives "User Busy" message on first call attempt to my iphone

Hi, I am using Iphone 11 with IOS 15.5 and am facing an ongoing problem in call receiving. If someone calls me, then on their first attempt, they find me “user busy” but if they immediately redial me then my

phone rings. The caller’s first attempt shows as a missed call on my iphone.


I have checked all settings and have no call forwarding, blocking, do not disturb etc activated, the phone is not muted or anything. I have been through all the suggested setting checks. The Apple shop said there were no blocks on my phone, the cellular service provider confirms no call forwarding / user busy active on the line.


I have restarted the phone and tried everything I can think of to resolve this very frustrating issue.


Hope someone out there can come with a fix.

Thanks for posting in Apple Communities.


To address the matter with your calls stating that the user is busy on the first call attempt, first back up and update iPhone to iOS 15.6. If it continues, remove and insert the SIM card back in iPhone.


Reset your network settings. If you do not have a current backup, create one first and ensure you have any Wi-Fi or VPN passwords saved.


Go to Settings > General > Reset > Reset Network Settings. This will restart iPhone.
