Resetting an iCloud password

Can anyone help me as I am teasing my hair out.

I have n iCloud storage set up for my little girl, she broke her old iPad so we bought a new one. We cannot remember her iCloud password, when I go through the measures it sends a text to my phone with. Code which I enter, the last step is then enter the password to get access.

i do not have this password I wouldn’t be going through the process if I did.

am I missing something?
