HomePod music is connecting with my roommates phone and playing my music.

I have a HomePod that is connected with my iPhone/Apple Music. Randomly, my roommates iPhone started to pair with Music that’s playing on HomePod. So it would show the music I’m playing and she would be able to control it on her phone as well. Now she can’t remove it. How do we stop it?

Stop playing homepods in house showing up on all iphones (without disabling major features) I have been trying to find a solution for what currently happens if you play music from a Homepod. The situation is described below. Music playing on homepod (any homepod in the house on wifi) As you walk close to the room, it automatically puts in the dynamic island and on the home screen/control center what is playing and controls The only way to remove it (temporarily) is to go to the control center and do the following: Long press on the music widget click control other speakers & tv choose this phone I have tried the following with no success Disabled Transfer to HomePod Disabled Handoff I have read many other forums and post and do not want to have this function disabled, or to fully disable control of homepods by phone, or to move them to another network. I just don't want music playing in my daughters room to constantly pop up on my phone in the dynamic island and home screen music widgets. Disable auto airplay to nearby HomePods I bought my son a HomePod for his room, which is next to our room. I put him to bed and start the homepod playing music. I leave his room and hang out in the living room for a few hours, then go to my bedroom, pull out my phone wanting to listen to a podcast and hit play, not realizing it’s playing to his homepod. The UI for controlling nearby devices is horrendously confusing and I have made this mistake for the 10th time now, waking my sleeping child to podcasts. I’m at my whits end and cannot figure out how to disable nearby HomePod control. Just cause I walk up and tap a homepod, or speak to it, does NOT mean I want my phone’s apps to play audio to there from then on. I do I disable this?

See Allow others to control audio on HomePod. You might change speaker access to Only People Sharing This Home.
