Upgrading
Trying to upgrade my iPhone + my I pad to an IOS 14.0 in order to get a Dicovery app

The iPad Air 2 is capable of upgrading to iOS 15. So you cannot upgrade to 14, just upgrade to 15 instead.
If you have a iPad Air without the 2, you cannot update further then iOS 12.5.5 due to hardware limitations
For your iPhone: the iPhone 6S and higher can update to iOS 15.
The iPhone 6/6Plus/5S cannot update further then iOS 12.5.5. due to hardware limitations.
The iPhone 5C cannot update further then iOS 10.3.4 due to hardware limitations
