Shazam shortcut doesn’t work

Shazam on control center doesn’t recognize songs anymore. Do I have to have the app installed in order for this to work again? I used to be able to identify songs without the app.

I have synced both, Music Recognition and Shazam, with iCloud and have toggled on "Sync Shazams to Apple Music" in Shazam's settings. When I identify a song with the Shazam app the song is automatically added to Apple Music's "My Shazam Tracks" playlist as intended. However, when I identify a song with the Shazam widget in Control Center the song appears in the Shazam app but is not added to the playlist on Apple Music. The songs are only added to the Apple Music playlist after toggling the "Sync Shazams to Apple Music" setting on and off. I know I can add the songs manually but I wish the process would be automatic like when using the app as it doesn't seem like a difficult problem to fix.

Shazam stopped letting me add songs to Apple Music or open them in Apple Music. It used to work and suddenly stopped. The apple support rep I'm using via email is clueless. How can I get it working. Sync Library is on. I deleted the Shazam app and reinstalled. All my Shazams are there but I can't add any to apple music...the option is grayed out.

Welcome to Apple Support Communities. We understand that you're having an issue with Shazam playing from Control Center. We'd like to help.

Check out this resource to make sure things are set up correctly: Use Shazam on iPhone, iPad, iPod touch, Apple Watch, or Mac - Apple Support

If they are set up correctly, you may want to try adding the Shazam app to see if that changes the behavior. It doesn't specify if you need the app or not but it's worth testing it out both ways.
