esc key won't end slideshow in ppt (Office 365)

Hi,

I am working on a new Macbook Air (M1 2020) and have Office 365 installed. For some reason, the Esc key doesn't allow me to exit a slideshow in PowerPoint anymore. Instead, I have to navigate to the lower bottom corner, hit the button with the 3 dots and select "End Show". Is there a way to (re)assign Esc to do this? It's such a habit and used to work this way on my old mac.

Any suggestions?
