Does Apple have pop up phishing/ malware notices ? I was just looking something up on safari and a notice popped up ; had Apple care logo and the top banner looked legit ; I didn’t hit the start scan button but very good misrepresentation of legit notice

Websites cannot scan your device contents. That’d be a complete and total catastrophe.

This is a scam. You did the right thing by not clicking on anything, as these phishing websites will attempt to get you to download malicious software.
