I can't change the text box size on my iPad Pro

On the IPad, in certain apps like DocuSign, I can’t change the shape of the box so that it is more rectangular and text doesn’t keep wrapping downward. Putting in spaces doesn’t change the shape/size of the text box which is what I need it to do. Changing the font size on a form is not the answer either. The font has to be a reasonable size so that people can actually read it and I’m already working with a very small font. Has there been a solution to this problem yet? Seems like it has been an issue for a long time.
