Still no "Ripple Delete" or "Delete gap" in GarageBand?

I can't believe this isn't a thing in the current version of GarageBand. What's more, I could swear it USED to be a thing in an older version!?

When I'm editing VoiceOver auditions or podcasts, I'm cutting out sections or bad takes or silence, etc, and all I want is an easy way to delete the space.

I found one helpful post that explained how to create a keyboard shortcut for menu commands that *already exist but do not have keyboard shortcuts* (lol wut??) except for this particular command for some reason you cannot use the delete key in the shortcut.

Am I missing something? If not, please Apple fix this!
