CarPlay Google Maps bug

Hi there,

While connected to CarPlay, the following Siri command leads to an error:

“Navigate to [place] using Google Maps”

When my iPhone is not connected to Carplay, this same command works just fine. My iOS is updated to 15.5 and Google maps is fully updated. Do you have any suggestions as to how I can fix this?

Directions always open from google maps I can’t click any links to get Apple Maps to work. They all open with google. Even without the google maps app. It just opens online then tries to redirect me to getting the google maps app. I’ve checked all my setting for the default app to be maps but it still doesn’t work. It is really frustrating. If I use Siri, it opens in Apple Maps but that’s the only way it works. It is getting frustrating to not be able to use the phones default map app.

Respectfully, the problem is not with Google maps, but with Apple Carplay. The Siri command "Navigate to [address] using Google maps" works fine normally, but does not work on Apple Carplay.

Could this please be fixed, as this is a frustrating issue? Thanks.

Please use Apple Maps.

Google Maps is not an Apple product. Contact the app developer here --> App Support or Google Maps Help - Google Support
