Regarding the find my phone app with sharing with friends, what is the significance of a light blue circle surrounding a phone location and a green blinking circle? Thanks.

The detail about these designations does not appear to be in the user guides for Find My, but it's been posted here before, including this post from an Apple Community Specialist.

The green pulsing light around the name of a contact shows that data is being sent live. A blue circle on the map indicates an approximate location of a contact.

'Live' is a feature of iOS 15.
