If I purchase an M1 MacBook Pro how can I keep using the apps on my Sierra MacBook Pro?

Hi - I currently have a 2013 MBPro running MacOS High Sierra (10.13). It's got all the apps I've come to master over the years including Adobe CS6. I'd like to upgrade to an M1 chip MBPro and want to keep all my old apps working. Will any of the following options work?

  1. Can I partition the M1 Mac's SSD and put bootable High Sierra on it with all the old apps?
  2. Can I use an external SSD as a bootable High Sierra drive with all the old apps?
  3. Can I simply use the existing SSD (the one currently running this 2013 machine) as a bootable external drive on a new M1 machine and have all the apps work?

Thanks in advance for your advice.

MacBook Pro 15″, macOS 10.13
