Kindle app won’t open on my iPad

I read on this forum that I could delete the app then reinstall. I started this process but a warning appeared that I would be deleting all the data in the app, which is a large collection. I need assurance that all my reading material will be preserved in the cloud. If that’s so, will the collection re-load automatically or will I need to manually read-install my library?

Hello vickilsj,

That's a fantastic question! If the reading material are items you've purchased from Amazon, the material would remain associated to your Amazon account and able to be redownloaded as outlined in the following article.

Download Books to your Kindle App

If the material was not purchased from Amazon and with the prompt you're seeing, that would indicate the in-app data that is downloaded to the device would be removed. You would want to reach out to Amazon support to see if content from other sources would remain associated to your account. Their support options can be found via the link below.
