Studio M1 Max won't wake up BenQ Display

I recently bought a new Studio Max, running OS 12.4, and a BenQ SW270c photographers monitor.

When connecting via USB-C, after the computer has been asleep for an extended period of time (over night) the Mac wont wake up the monitor. The monitor shows "No signal detected" even though it shows USB-C is connected. I also know the Mac is awake because if I press the keyboard too many times in makes the alert sound with each press.

I've contacted BenQ, and after some tests they said this is an issue with the M1s.

I have to correct this problem by unplugging the monitor from power, then re-plugging it back in for the Mac to output a signal to the monitor.

If I connect via HDMI, the monitor will wake up, but shows the incorrect display specs. (showing under system report->graphics/display that it's a 4K monitor when the monitor is only 2560 x1440)

I'm going to try to connect with HDMI and see if the issue continues. But it seems from other posts, that this issue is mainly with USB-C/thunderbolt connections.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. After spending nearly $4000 between the Studio Max, and monitor, I feel like this shouldn't be an issue.

1) Does that BenQ also have DisplayPort input?

If so, then your best bet is to use a USB-C to DisplayPort cable.

2) Monterey has sleep/wake issues. The work around is to use the following Energy Saver settings.
