How to limit number of midi devices GarageBand should use

I want to be able to have 2 midi devices plugged in, and have GarageBand only listen to one of them.

The other is plugged in for other purposes but still plays instruments in GarageBand which I need it to not do.

You can't. Garageband has no concept of midi channels. You need GB's smarter brother, Logic.
