NotchLC Codec - AdobeCC - M1 Processor

I have just bought a new MacBook Pro (arriving this month).

I have only just discovered that it is not compatible with NotchLC.

I export video files in this format from Creative Cloud/Pro/AE.

Who is the entity I need to speak to to resolve this? Adobe? Notch? Apple?

It is such a shame!

Any help appreciated.

This is a user-to-user forum, and we can’t speak for any of theses companies. That being said … Adobe is (imho) not likely to do anything extra for plugins that do not work on the Apple Silicon chipsets. It is developer responsibility to publish compatible software. Adobe publishes the plugin specs and guidelines, and that’s it.

Apple is (imho) not likely to do anything extra for plugins to third party software that do not work on the Apple Silicon chipsets. It is developer responsibility to publish compatible software. Apple already offers development tools and manuals.

Notch may or may not be working on a version that will work with Apple Silicon. It would possibly be a complete re-write, as the CPU and GPU combo is quite different. For free-of-charge software, that may not be a feasible effort.
