Why does my calendar say new event on every day?

Click on the event to obtain more information about it. If it's repeat event you should be able to delete all future events and this should fix your problem.

If it's not a repeat but assigned to a Calendar you're subscribed to you can try removing that Calendar. Please note, this will remove all events associated with the calendar.
