How to find old messages deleted from iPhone

Hello,

I always delete my messages, I really like the clarity in my inbox. However I would like to access a message I deleted with someone number. I forgot to save their number and cleared the message.

I tried restoring my phone to yesterday (by going in and erasing my phone date to restore).

however I never use iCloud and I don’t think I did it properly. I now see messages from earlier today, which I selected it to restart from yesterday.

can anyone walk me through how to access old messages?

If you are asking about email messages and you have an IMAP email account, you cannot retrieve them if you delete them. Restoring a backup won’t do any good.
