migration assistant will take 52 more hours to complete transfer from old iMac to new iMac. other options?

currently using peer to peer connection in transfer of files. What are

Never use Wi-Fi to migrate, it fails almost 100% of the time. Be smart and connect the old Macs Time Machine drive to the new machine and then launch MA. Works 100% of the time and is the fastest method to migrate.
