Midi editing in Logic Pro

All of my midi tracks default to my drum midi events in the edit window. So I can’t edit my piano midi info because when I double click on the piano region my drum region appears in the edit window. This is the same for all midi tracks. Even when I create a new software instrument, it still defaults back to the drum midi info in edit window.

Option to separate Midi region by note pitch not available, only by articulation I am having difficulty figuring out how to separate a MIDI region by note pitch. I'm ultimately trying to separate a drummer region that I converted to MIDI. When I highlight the track and go to edit-> separate midi region, the only available option is to separate by articulation. I moved the MIDI region to a different MIDI track, but it didn't make any difference. I've include a picture of what I am seeing here. I'm assuming there is something simple I'm missing here. Any help appreciated.

Settings for "automatically import MIDI tempo information" in Logic? I recently imported a bunch of MIDI files into a project, and selected "Import tempo information" and checked the "don't ask from now on." Now I want to import a MIDI file and NOT the tempo information, but I can't find the setting/preference to change this back to "ask". I spent about an hour searching through the Logic Pro "help" pages to no avail. I do this with automation all the time, switching between the "always" and "never" under the "move track automation with regions" preference. So, I'm trying to find the equivalent with importing MIDI tempo information. I can't find it under any of the submenus under Preferences>MIDI nor Project Settings>MIDI nor Project Settings>Synchronization Thanks for any suggestions/help

view midi for multi tracks at once ? In some other daws it’s possible, when viewing a tracks midi, to view the other tracks midi as well. It’s usually shown in the piano roll as faded and grayed out notes. Is their a way to do this in Logic? If not, how can I do something similar? It appears I can’t even open multiple piano role editors at the same time... Im using 10.5. thanks.

Sounds like you have disabled the window link function:

Make sure the Piano Roll window link is Yellow

That’s was it. Thank you so much for your help. Funny how something small like that can make you pull your hair out if you don’t know what’s happening.
