Family Share with Separate Payments

Are we ever going to get the ability to assign a different billing method to each member on a Family Share plan? There are a lot of benefits to sharing, but when trying to teach kids to manage a budget, it would be very helpful to be able to assign a different payment method to each member of the family so that they see the charges on their own cards without the need to constantly reload their itunes account with credits. Thanks.

It's always existed. Simply turn off purchase sharing among family group members.

See the instruction in How to share purchases with your family

Turn off purchase sharing

  1. View your Purchase Sharing settings in Settings on your iPhone or iPad or in System Preferences on your Mac.
  2. Turn off purchase sharing:
  • On your iPhone, iPad or iPod touch, tap Stop Purchase Sharing.
  • On your Mac, click Turn Off, then click Stop Purchase Sharing.

Observe Apple's note though - When you turn on purchase sharing, everyone in your family gets access to apps, music, films, TV programmes and books that family members buy.

If you turn it off you can no longer share in this way.
