I've been trying to enter DFU (Device Firmware Update) mode on my iPhone SE 1st Generation for the entirety of today, and it only goes to the recovery mode. I got it into DFU mode in 2019, 2020, and 2021, but now in 2022 it just won't enter it. I'm being told that recovery mode and DFU mode are exactly the same thing, but I'm not buying it.
Any answers?
They are not exactly the same (close, but there are differences). But iTunes will “see” DFU mode as Recovery mode. The differences between DFU mode and Recovery mode are only on how they are launched on the iOS device. Once the iPhone connects to iTunes they are the same.
