Every time I connect my iPhone to my computer, my contacts become duplicated. I now have several copies of each contact in my phone. How do I remove the duplicates and prevent this from happening again?

Thank you. My issue was created in the cloud. However, since this only happened when I connected my phone to my laptop, I thought it was caused by something else. I never signed into my account when my phone was connected either which is another reason I find it strange that my contacts would duplicate in the cloud.
