Mac stops recognizing networks

I have a 2011 iMac running Sierra. When I reboot the Mac, internet connectivity is fine, but over 24-72 hours, downloads get slower and slower, then the computer stops recognizing any network until I reboot again, and the cycle starts over. The diagnostics programs offer no resolutions. I’d like to know if this could be a hardware issue with the Mac, because if I can’t even use it for web browsing, I might get rid of it.

There are two things to try. 1 delete and re-add your WIFI in system preferences- network- advanced - WIFI. Then Wifi icon join other networks. Also turning off WIFI and then turning it back on is about the same as a restart.
