How can I use 'sort by date added' when attaching files?

When I try to attach a file using icon view (on Safari or Mail, for example), I can right-click and choose 'sort by date'. However, it only sorts by date modified by default.

Can I change it to 'sort by date added' using the icon view without using 'group items by date added'? Many thanks!
