Black screen with sound for Apple TV app when I connect an external monitor to my Mac

While Apple TV app plays without a problem when I use my Mac build-in screen, I only get sound when I connect an external monitor via HDMI. While this remains connected, I get also the same result (just sound) even when I move the window to the retina screen. As soon as I disconnect the monitor, the video is back without a problem.

Thank you very much for the reply, I though it was a bug but it seems to be an Apple feature :-).

So I understand that Apple has not open the option to mirror Apple TV app to my HDMI monitor, but allows me using Airplay and mirror it to my Samsung TV... interesting.

Your external monitor and HDMI adapter should be HDCP compliant. If not, then will not show the protected content.
