Why isn’t my Find My app working?

My find my app isn’t working it won’t show me the location of people who share theirs with me and it says unavailable when I try turning it on from settings

Hello! There were several reported outages at the time of your post as documented at System Status. If you're still experiencing this problem, providing additional information may increase the chances of obtaining a helpful reply. Are others able to locate your device? Can you locate your own devices? Does the error message contain any other details than "unavailable" when trying to activate this service?
