IPhone SE Brightness Constantly darkening

I have shut off anything i can relating to the brightness, including auto-brightness and whatnot, turned on and turned off settings, and still, no matter what i do, whenever my phone closes down and i turn it back on sometime later, the screen is DARK. The brightness keeps resetting back to dark!! It used to brighten, or at least return to my normal brightness setting, no matter what. Auto brightness is on, but no matter what its always as far dark as possible after more than 5 mins at rest and reopened. What is wrong with it? It only started this after updating to 15.4 IOS. I want my phone to stop turning dark after resting, or at least maintain the level of brightness i put it at. i hate opening it to a shadowed screen!! But Auto brightness doesn't seem to be doing anything! What is wrong with it?

Hey ReiHargreaves,

Check out the information below about brightness levels and auto-brightness, which is from this article:

"About brightness levels

iOS devices use an ambient light sensor to adjust brightness levels based on the light conditions around you. The sensor lowers brightness in dark locations and raises brightness in light locations. The auto-brightness feature is on by default.

When auto-brightness is on, you'll notice that the brightness slider on your device moves according to changing light conditions.

You can turn auto-brightness on or off in Settings > Accessibility > Display & Text Size. To reset the auto-brightness settings, turn off auto-brightness and then turn it back on. "

To clarify, this issue happens regardless if auto-brightness is turned on or off, correct? Also, when you say that this happens after your iPhone rating or when your iPhone closes down, do you mean when your iPhone goes to sleep and not a restart, correct? We want to make sure we fully understand the issue.

If you haven't already, you could see if a restart might help your iPhone SE and this issue: Restart your iPhone - Apple Support Restarting can seem like a simple step, but it can sometimes help resolve issues.

Take care!
