Unable to change date on my macbook air 2017 running on

I am trying to enter the current date in Settings->Date&Time. But I am unable to change the date since it does not go beyond 11/10/1959. Could you please help me understand how to set the current date?

MacBook Air 13″, macOS 12.2

Please try resetting that Mac's NVRAM according to Reset NVRAM or PRAM on your Mac - Apple Support.
